The Thailand Privilege visa (formerly Elite): tiers, fees and what it does not give

Thailand Privilege is a paid long-stay membership run by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. — not residence, not citizenship, and no right to work. Here are the current published tiers and fees, and how the firm assists with the application.

The Thailand Privilege visa is one of the first routes foreign condominium buyers ask about, and one of the most misunderstood. This note sets out plainly what it is, the tiers and fees the operator currently publishes, what the membership does and does not give you, and how we assist — including, honestly, the limits of our role.

What is the Thailand Privilege visa, and who runs it?

The Thailand Privilege visa is a paid membership that carries a long-stay privilege entry visa, operated by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd., a state enterprise under the Tourism Authority of Thailand. It was previously marketed as "Thailand Elite". You buy a membership tier; the membership entitles you to a Privilege Entry Visa for the term of that tier, together with the member services the operator publishes. It is a commercial programme you purchase, not a government immigration category you qualify into on income or employment — which is precisely why some buyers prefer it and others look elsewhere.

What does the membership actually give you — and what does it not?

The membership gives you the right to stay, not the right to settle. Within the term of your tier you hold a long-stay privilege visa, renewed through the operator's process, with member services such as airport fast-track and, on the higher tiers, limousine transfers and concierge coordination drawn against an annual allocation of "Privilege Points".

What it does not give matters more. It is not permanent residence, it is not Thai citizenship, and it does not by itself grant any right to work in Thailand. If you intend to work or run a business here, you still need the correct work permit and visa basis. And to correct a common assumption: owning a condominium in Thailand does not, by itself, give you any right to live here — ownership and immigration status are separate questions, and the everyday obligations of living here (address reporting and the like) still apply. We cover those in our Residency Essentials note.

What are the current published tiers and fees?

As published by Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. at the date checked (25 July 2026), the programme offers five tiers, each a one-time membership fee paid to the operator:

  • Bronze — THB 650,000, five-year term
  • Gold — THB 900,000, five-year term
  • Platinum — THB 1,500,000, ten-year term
  • Diamond — THB 2,500,000, fifteen-year term
  • Reserve — THB 5,000,000, twenty-year term, by invitation only

The higher tiers carry a larger annual allocation of Privilege Points and broader member services. These tiers, fees, terms and benefits are set and revised by the operator, and promotions are added and withdrawn from time to time — the figures above are indicative at the date checked, not a quotation. Confirm the current tiers and fees with the operator, or with us, before you rely on them.

Who does Thailand Privilege suit?

It suits someone who wants a long stay without having to qualify on income, assets or employment. In practice that means an applicant who prefers to pay a one-time fee for a fixed term, who does not need to work in Thailand under the membership, and who values the airport and concierge services. It is worth weighing against the Board of Investment's Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa, which is qualified on income and assets rather than purchased and which carries a work route — a genuinely different trade-off. Which fits you depends on your circumstances, and we are glad to talk it through.

How does Suwanvara Law Firm assist — and what is our status?

We assist with preparing and submitting your membership application; we are not an authorised agent of the operator. That distinction is deliberate and we state it plainly. We explain the current published tiers so you can choose the term that fits your intended stay, help you complete the operator's application and assemble the documents it requires, coordinate the submission, and guide you through to visa issuance once the operator has accepted you and you have paid the membership fee directly to Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd.

What we do not do is as important. We do not set, discount or waive the membership fee or the tier terms — those are the operator's. We do not represent the membership as residence or citizenship, because it is neither. And we do not promise acceptance: the operator conducts its own background screening, issuance runs through the operator and the Immigration Bureau, and both are discretionary. We prepare and file; we do not guarantee an outcome or a processing time.
